It looks like Russia will be getting off lighter than expected for their various doping violations.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport’s officially ruled on Thursday that the country of Russia will not be able to use their name, flag and national anthem at any Olympic or World championship events through the year 2022.

Russian athletes that were not indicted will still be aloud to compete, but will represent themselves and not their country of origin.

World Anti-Doping Agency had initially proposed a four-year ban, so the punishment isn’t nearly as severe as expected.
