What an inspiring comeback story for Canadian IndyCar driver Robert Wickens!

The 32-year old Guelph, Ontario native announced that he will compete at the IMSA Michelin Pilot Cup championship in Daytona, Florida on January 28th.

This will mark the first time that Wickens, who is now driving a Hyundai prepared by Bryan Herta Autosport (BHA), will compete in a professional race since the horrific crash that nearly killed him and left him partially paralyzed during the 2018 ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania on August 19, 2018.

“It’s been a long, winding and difficult road to this point and the journey is not over but (I’m) thankful we’ll be able to move down the road with a bit more speed,” said Wickens via his official Twitter account.

“Now, let’s go win”
