The Los Angeles Lakers can breathe a sigh of relief regarding the health status of one of their star players.

According to reports, Anthony Davis could be sidelined for as little as two weeks after suffering what looked to be a severe ankle sprain during the Lakers’ 106-101 win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.

The x-rays on his injured ankle came back negative, which is a surprise considering how bad it looked from all the replays on television.

“It’s very deflating to see A.D. go down the way he did,” said Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said.

“He was just shaking his head about, really, everything. What it felt like and being frustrated looking like he’s going to miss some time again.”

He will undergo an MRI this week to determine the severity of the injury.

Davis has averaged 23.1 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 37 games this season.

The Lakers currently sit 9th in the Western Conference with a 27-31 record.
