Yankees emerging as favourites to land Dallas Keuchel

The market for lefty Dallas Keuchel has rapidly heated up due to the passing of MLB Draft compensatory pick deadline.

With many interested in his services, their is one powerhouse team that is determined to sign the veteran starter: the New York Yankees.

According to reports, the Pinstripes are clear favourites to sign Keuchel, and could actually complete a deal with him within the next couple of days. His presence in the rotation will help fill the void left by the season-ending injury of ace Luis Severino.

Keuchel, 31, made his MLB debut with the Houston Astros in 2012 and had spent his entire seven-year career within the organization.

The two-time MLB All-Star and 2015 Cy Young winner posted a 12-11 record with a 3.74 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 153 strikeouts in 34 starts and 204 2/3 innings pitched last season.
