VIDEO: Chris Bassitt carted off the field after being struck in head by line drive

This is not for the feint of heart…

Oakland Athletics starter Chris Bassitt was struck in the head by a comeback line drive off the bat of Brian Goodwin in the second inning of the team’s 9-0 loss to Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.

He was laying on the mound for minutes with a towel on his face to cover the blood before being eventually carted off the field.

We sincerely hope he is okay and his injuries are not too serious:
