The player everybody loves to hate has made his way into this year’s NHL All-Star Game.

Washington Capitals tough guy Tom Wilson has been named as Alex Ovechkin’s replacement for the Metropolitan Division at the 2022 NHL All-Star Game in Las Vegas this weekend. Ovechkin was removed from the festivities after he tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week.

Philadelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux has replaced Ovechkin as Metropolitan Division captain.

Wilson, 27, has never made an NHL All-Star Game prior to the season. The first-time All-Star has posted 13 goals and 18 assists in 43 games this season.
