He may be the talk of the town in junior hockey, but this time around it’s for all the wrong reasons.

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced that they have suspended Rimouski Oceanic star Alexis Lafreniere three games for an open-ice hit to the head at center ice on Quebec Remparts forward Thomas Caron during a third period of a game on Sunday.

Lafreniere, who is expected to go first overall in the upcoming 2020 NHL Draft, was given a five-minute major and removed from the contest following the incident.

The 18-year old has posted 24 goals, 60 assists and a plus-31 rating in 39 games this season.
