Patrice Bergeron confident he will be ready for start of season despite nagging groin injury

It’s going to take a lot to keep Boston Bruins star forward Patrice Bergeron out of the lineup when the team opens the 2019/2020 regular season against the Dallas Stars on October 3rd.

Bergeron, who has been dealing with a nagging groin injury this offseason and could have limitations placed on him when training camp kicks off, feels he will be healthy enough to be in the lineup on opening day.

“I’m feeling good, I’m feeling positive I’ll be ready definitely for the start of the season…So that’s not even an issue.” said Bergeron.

The comments come two months after putting a halt to his offseason workout regimen in order to receive a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) shot in the injured area.

He is the first to admit he is not 100%, but still feels he will be good to go when the calendar moves to October.

“It’s still lingering a little bit (the groin injury). It’s been there most of the summer, so I got a PRP in July I think and I’m slowly ramping it up on the ice and … I think it’s what we’re trying shoot for is more October”
