Flames ink Rasmus Andersson to six-year extension

Rasmus Andersson will be sticking with the Calgary Flames for many years to come.

The team confirmed on Thursday that they have signed the 23-year old Swedish defenceman to a six-year, $27.3 million contract extension worth an average annual value of $4.55 million.

Andersson, who was selected 53rd overall in the 2015 NHL Draft, is in his third season with the franchise.

He has posted three goals, and nine assists in 45 games this season.
