The Chicago Blackhawks will be without one of their young forwards for the 2021 regular seasons.

The team announced that forward Alex Nylander will be sidelined for the next 4-6 months after undergoing surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee earlier this week.

In 2019/2020, Nylander posted a career-best 10 goals, and 16 assists over a span of 65 games.

The 22-year old, who was selected 8th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft, was initially acquired by the Blackhawks in a trade with the Buffalo Sabres back in July 2019.
