And just like that, the Vegas Golden Knights have gotten rid of their Vezina winning goalie.

The team announced that they have sent All-Star netminder Marc-Andre Fleury to the Chicago Blackhawks as a shocking salary-cap dumping move. The only thing the Blackhawks sent to Vegas in the deal is minor league prospect Mikael Hakkarainen.

No salary was retained as part of the deal, which means the $7 million cap hit owed to Marc-Andre Fleury for the final year of his contract is officially off their books.

The 36-year old is coming off an incredible 2020/21 campaign where he posted a 26-10-0 record, 1.98 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage.
