Alex Ovechkin has reached another milestone.

After scoring an empty netter in the final minutes of the Washington Capitals’ 5-4 win over the Calgary Flames on Tuesday, he tied hockey legend Jaromir Jagr fourth on the NHL’s all-time goal scoring list.

“Obviously, it’s always nice to hear those kind of milestones, numbers,” said Ovechkin.

“It’s pretty big, obviously, and how I always said, being with those names and in this company, it’s a pretty cool moment.”

Ovechkin has amassed 766 goals over a span of 1253 regular season games and 16-plus seasons with the Capitals franchise.

He needs just 36 goals to surpass Gordie Howe for sole possession of second, and is just 128 back from Wayne Gretzky for the all-time leader in goals.
