LiAngelo and LaMelo Make Lithuanian Debut

After causing quite the ruckus with their entrance in Lithuania last week, it seems as though both LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball have finally played their first professional game of basketball this past Tuesday.  The exhibition game obviously sold out and the crowd was nothing less than excited to see the players hit the court. They even made a splash online, drawing in more than a hundred thousand viewers on Facebook Live. Their team, Vyautas ended up winning the game against Zalgiris ninety to eighty. However combined, the Balls only took in twenty-nine points overall, raising some eyebrows.

Clearly, the LaVar Ball influence was bigger than the game itself as Big Baller Brands was able to showcase its logo on signage in the arena as well as referees who were somehow sporting BBB branded outfits. LaVar was clearly happy anytime cameras panned to him in the crowd and not just simply because his two sons are playing in a professional basketball league. And while both players managed to showcase some of their strengths in the game, they also managed to show off some of their weaknesses, such as LaMelo’s poor defensive abilities and some other misses for LiAngelo.

Ultimately, LaVar’s move was a clear power play. He wasn’t simply there to cheer on his sons or help them transition into a new lifestyle, he was there with an agenda. All he wanted was to place his sons in a financially struggling club to garner the attention of the cameras and have his products promoted. And his products aren’t just Big Baller Brand merchandise.
