Flyers sign Nolan Patrick to entry-level deal

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed Nolan Patrick the second overall pick in the 2017 NHL entry draft to a three year contract the team has announced on Monday.

Nolan Patrick is from Winnipeg, he fought a hernia injury last season, but still performed in 33 games with the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings. He ended the 2016-17 seasons with 20 goals and 26 assists. A year prior, Patrick played in 72 games with Brandon, recording 102 points.

In 2014-15, Patrick was given the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as the WHL’s rookie of the year, a season in which he recorded 56 points in 55 games.
