Some major changes might be happening once again in Philadelphia.

After losing all four of their games in their Western Canada road trip, the Philadelphia Flyers are reportedly close to firing head coach Dave Hakstol and replacing him with former Chicago Blackhawks bench boss Joel Quenneville. Quenneville has already agreed to join the team, and now it’s just a matter of time before the change is made.

Since the rumours have circulated, the Flyers have not confirmed the rumours but also did not outright deny them either. When questioned about the coaching, an unnamed Flyers representative told ESPN that “Dave Hakstol is our coach” and did not elaborate any further.

If this ends up happening, the Flyers will be getting one hell of a coach.

Quenneville, who was fired as Blackhawks head coach earlier this season on November 6, posted a combined 452-249-96 regular season record in 797 games and 10-plus seasons with the franchise.

During his tenure, the Blackhawks qualified for the postseason nine out of a possible 10 times, and won three Stanley Cups over a six-year span in 2010, 2013 and 2015.

The 60-year old sits at second in all-time wins as an NHL head coach with 890.
