Could Dwight Howard be the spark plug the Washington Wizards desperately need? Well we are about to find out.

According to reports, The veteran center is likely to make his season debut on Friday when the Washington Wizards play host to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Verizon Center. He has been out with a back and butt injury since training camp.

The Wizards (1-6) returned home from a disastrous five-game road trip where they recorded just one win. They currently sit dead last in the Eastern Conference as a result.

Howard, who is now on his fourth team in four seasons, has averaged 17.4 points and 12.7 rebounds over a career that has spanned 14 seasons and 1035 regular season games.

He clearly isn’t the player he used to be, but will be able to provide the Wizards with some much rebounding and rim protection. So far in 2018/19, the Wizards rank in the bottom five in rebounds per game and defensive efficiency.
