Veteran CFL quarterback Darian Durant is calling it quits.

The 35-year-old announced his decision to retire on Friday after 12 seasons in the CFL.

“I have some opportunities away from the field that will allow me to transition smoothly into the next stage of my life,” said Durant.

“I also became a father earlier this year and I being able to see my daughter grow up day-by-day has played a big part in this decision.”

Durant, who was traded to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers earlier this offseason, compiled 2500 pass completions for 31740 yards, 167 touchdowns and 115 interceptions in 134 combined games from 2006-2017, mostly with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

He was also a two-time CFL West All-Star and a two-time Grey Cup champion during that span.
