Chris Bosh hasn’t played a professional NBA basketball game since 2016 after he was found to have a blood clot in his lungs at the beginning of the year. The discovery initially brought his 2015 season to an end and when he subsequently returned to the game in 2016 he was voted to the all-star game he also was quickly taken out of the game. But there is hope! The 33-year-old today put any rumours of his retirement to rest by saying: ”I’ve been in the gym. I can still play basketball. No I’m not done yet.”

The former longtime Raptor’s determination can certainly be admired, but many had discounted his return when the NBA reviewed the situation and let the team put him on waivers. Bosh reportedly wanted to play in the 2016-2017 season but the doctors would not let him and there was supposedly some heavy arguments about letting him play. The Heat even made plans to retire his number one jersey!

Ultimately, Bosh wanted to sign with a team, he’d have to do so by March 1st free-agent deadline. At his age, he really only has so much time left in his career and one can only hope he’ll make it back on the court sometime soon.
