Bruins defenceman Kevan Miller out five weeks with throat injury

Yet another Boston Bruins player finds himself on the injured reserve.

The team announced that veteran defenceman Kevan Miller will be sidelined for the next five weeks after suffering a “cartilage injury” to his larynx when he took a John Tavares shot to the throat during the first period of their 4-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday.

He joins Brandon Carlo, Charlie McAvoy, and Zdeno Chara in a growing list of Bruins defenceman that are out of action due to injury.

The 31-year old has recorded two assists and a plus-6 rating in 11 games so far this season.
