The Toronto Blue Jays have found their man.

The team announced Thursday that they have officially named former Tampa Bay Rays bench coach Charlie Montoyo their 13th manager in franchise history.

“We are thrilled to announce Charlie as the new manager of the Toronto Blue Jays,” said Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins in a statement.

“Charlie is a highly regarded leader by so many individuals in the game and we were thoroughly impressed by his experiences and approach as we learned more about him during the interview process.”

Montoyo, 53, had been a part of the Tampa Bay Rays organization since their inception in 1997. He has managerial experience at every level in the minors, including an eight-year stint managing the Rays Triple-A farm team Durham Bulls from 2007-2014.

During that span, he was named International League manager of the year twice in 2010 and 2013, won seven International League South Division titles, two Governors’ Cup championships, and notched a franchise-record 633 wins.
